An inviting and comfortable atmosphere, muted in earthy colours and textures to warm up the industrial feel of the building built in 1902. The infusion of plants and greenery contrasts the bold elements making the restaurant a relaxed and inviting oasis.

Chef Mark studied at Silwood School of Cookery and has been working in kitchens since 1998. For Chef Mark, the art of cooking has always been something he’s interested in, even from as young as 12 years old. He credits his mother, a talented chef herself and an excellent baker, as his source of inspiration. He fondly remembers assisting her in the kitchen and them concocting delicious meals together.
According to Chef Mark, "being a chef is a job of passion, it’s not a job of money. It’s not a get rich quick scheme. It’s a job of love, it’s a job of passion, it’s a job of sacrifice because you are always in the trenches while other people are enjoying themselves."
Chef Mark describes the food at 1902 Bistro as casual good food that isn’t overcomplicated. He has put a lot of himself into the food and hopes that people will experience the welcoming and warm atmosphere that he has worked hard to create.
